Local fundraising for the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail will begin in earnest on Sat., Oct. 24, from noon to 4 p.m., when a public kick-off rally will be held at Ard’s Farm Market, 4803 Old Turnpike Road, in Buffalo Township.

The event will culminate at 3 p.m. with a presentation about the current status of and future plans for the rail-trail project as well as a check presentation by Nancy Bernstein, organizer of the annual Bike for Bob charity bike tour.

Bernstein is the chair of the BVRT capital campaign committee, which has set a goal of raising $500,000 from local sources over the next three years.

Ard’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from the corn maze on Oct. 24 to the BVRT capital campaign.  Entertainment will be provided by a live DJ.  Those attending the rally will get a special price of $2.50 for a dozen wings from Ard’s.
