SEDA-COG’s Energy Resource Center invites you to attend the September Building Green breakfast seminar on Thursday, September 18th from 7:30-9:30am at Penn’s Inn, in the Alvin C. Bush Campus Center at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA. Todd Woodward, Principal with SMP Architects in Philadelphia, will present “The Process of Building Green”.

For online registration and more information about September’s seminar, click here. To view the flyer for this event, click here. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required, and space is limited.  The seminar cost of $20 includes breakfast. We welcome your passing this information on to your clients and peers.

Mark your calendars to join your peers on the third Thursday of each month, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at various locations around the SEDA-COG region. The October 16th seminar, “Meet the Future: The Zero-Net Energy Home”, will be presented by Professor David Riley, Ph D., and will be held at the Pennsylvania State University Visitors’ Center in State College, PA. The November 20th seminar will be “Retrofitting Buildings for Energy Efficiency” (location TBA). The dual purpose of these monthly breakfast seminars is to provide a regular forum for peer exchange among diverse interests and to provide collective learning about high performance building benefits, practices, and products.

The process of planning, designing and constructing a “green” building is the key to comparable capital costs, significantly lower operating costs, healthier buildings that contribute to increased productivity, and reduced environmental impacts relative to conventional building design and construction. Todd Woodward, an A.I.A. member and LEED Accredited Professional, will describe the elements of this collaborative planning and design process and provide examples of their benefits.

Please join us in September, and at future Building Green breakfasts. Don’t hesitate to contact me for more information.

Sincerely,
