On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Bucknell University Environmental Center sponsors a screening of the film MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES, directed by Jennifer Baichwal. Photographer Edward Burtynsky's work is documented in this visually arresting documentary about the scale of human impact on the environment. This film marks the third of four films in the BU Environmental Center's "Green Screens" sustainability-themed series.
Internationally acclaimed for his large-scale photographs of the industrialized world, including quarries, recycling yards, factories, mines and dams, Burtynsky creates stunningly beautiful images from civilization's materials and debris.
Following the screening, Dina El-Mogazi, Director of the Bucknell Campus Greening Initiative will moderate a panel discussion on waste minimization, sustainability, and product lifecycle innovation, including efforts taking place at the local and national scale.
This event is open to the public. Admission is $2. Part of the Bucknell University Film/Media Tuesday Night Series.
