LAN History

LAN evolved in early spring of 2006 out of strong community interest in a positive response to global issues following on a series of public film screenings of the movie The End of Suburbia.  The group chose to work for productive and propelling change in response to the rather dire message of the movie, approaching topics like climate change, fuel uncertainty and the need for more sustainable practices from a positive perspective.  The original modest private screening had only eight attendees but gradually gained momentum, with about 100 at the final showing at the Campus Theatre in downtown Lewisburg.  The group has grown to approximately 300 today.
