Here are some nice community-minded opportunities in the Lewisburg vicinity.

From now until October, textile fans can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of two reproduction quilts. The original Pennsylvania quilts will be on display at the Packwood House Museum (Water St, Lewisburg) from June 9 until October 2009 (note: the museum does charge admission). The reproduced quilts are the dedicated handiwork of a local group, the Piecemakers Quilt Guild of the Susquehanna Valley. The two quilts include a full-size Bear Paw pattern, and a smaller crib quilt with an Ohio Star pattern. Raffle tickets cost $1 each (six for $5), and can be purchased at the Packwood House Museum during normal business hours of 10am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday. The raffle will be held on October 16. Free Summer Children's Programs

All programs are held in the Packwood House Museum's Tour Center from 10 a.m. to noon unless otherwise noted. Registration is free but required, due to limited seating; please contact the Museum at 570-524-0323 if you would like to register your child.
